Step 1: Gather Materials

  2. Tabbing wire: This is a type of wire that is used to connect the solar cells together. You'll need enough tabbing wire to connect all of your solar cells in series.
  3. Flux pen: This is a type of pen that is used to help the soldering process.
  4. Bus wire: This is a thicker wire that is used to connect the tabbing wire to the positive and negative terminals of your solar panel.
  5. Soldering iron: You'll need a soldering iron to connect the tabbing wire and bus wire to the solar cells.
  6. Solder wire: This is the material that you'll use to attach the wires to the solar cells.
  7. Backing board: This is the material that you'll mount your solar cells on. You can use materials like plywood or foam board.
  8. Encapsulant (EVA) sheets: These sheets are used to protect the solar cells and hold them in place. You'll need enough EVA sheets to cover all of your solar cells.

Step 3: Connect the Solar Cells

Clean your solar cells with a soft cloth, and arrange them on your backing board. Connect the cells together using tabbing wire. This will form a series circuit that will increase the voltage of your solar panel.

Step 4: Solder the Wires
